When Scott Reid agrees to take his step-sister and her friend camping for the holiday weekend the last thing they expect is to be pursued by two mysterious Mexicans. How long can they stay one step ahead of the unshakeable, relentless hunters? From the luxurious mansions of Palos Verdes to the run-down motels of the Californian desert, Cinco de Mayo is a grippingly sinister road trip that refuses to slow down, hurtling towards a shocking climax that is as brutal as it is unnerving.

EXT. DESERT ROAD / SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA - NIGHT

A black ‘68 Ford Mustang speeding through the darkness.

INT. MUSTANG - CONTINUOUS

Two HARD-NOSED MEXICANS in their late thirties sit in the front. RAUL CHAVEZ, hulking and scarred, drives. His brother, BARIZ CHAVEZ, lean, slick and cool taps his fingers to the jabbing chords of mariachi music. Behind them we hear whimpering. Whimpering becomes sobbing.

Bariz stops tapping. He glances in the rear view mirror. Fixes on two nine year old American girls wrapped in towels. Their tear-filled eyes meet his. They scream. Bariz reaches down and turns the volume up, drowning out the girls’ screams.

EXT. DESERT ROAD / SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA - CONTINUOUS

The screams fade into the darkness as the Mustang speeds on.
